The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist will support the Finance team by managing routine AR functions and ensuring accurate, timely processing of receivables. This temporary role will primarily serve as a backfill for our regular AR team member while internal resources focus on ERP implementation. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process and post customer payments (ACH, checks, credit cards, wire transfers)
- Apply cash accurately and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments
- Generate and send customer invoices and statements as needed
- Monitor accounts for past-due balances and support collections follow-up
- Respond to customer billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger
- Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
- Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure continuity during ERP implementation
- Document processes and flag issues or inconsistencies as they arise
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with accounting/ERP systems (experience with ERP transitions a plus)
- Proficient in Excel and basic accounting tools
- Ability to manage routine tasks independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or e-commerce environments
- Prior experience supporting teams during system implementations or process transitions
- Familiarity with high-volume AR or multiple customer accounts
