A progressive rural healthcare organization in Oregon is seeking a physician leader to serve as its next Chief Medical Officer. This is a rare opportunity to combine executive-level leadership with an active clinical practice in one of Oregon’s most scenic and authentic rural regions.

Your Role as Chief Medical OfficerAs CMO, you will serve as both a strategic leader and trusted clinical voice, partnering closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the future of care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Championing the alignment of physicians and advanced practice providers with the organization’s mission, vision, and values
- Leading clinical quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Driving evidence-based care standards and best practices across clinical departments
- Strengthening patient experience and HCAHPS outcomes
- Serving as a physician advisor for utilization management and case review
- Supporting medical staff leadership, committees, and physician governance
- Acting as a key liaison between providers, administration, the Board, and the community
- Mentoring physician leaders and fostering a culture of collegiality and engagement
- Partnering on physician recruitment and retention efforts
- Supporting regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
- Collaborating on population health strategies tailored to a rural community
This is a role for a physician who enjoys building consensus, leading change, and maintaining a strong connection to patient care.
Balanced Schedule- 50% Administrative Leadership
Executive CMO responsibilities as a member of the senior leadership team - 50% Clinical Practice
Maintain hands‑on clinical work within your specialty, ensuring credibility, connection, and fulfillment
