Position Overview
As a Certified Snow sports Instructor at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort you’ll play a leading role in shaping unforgettable mountain experiences for guests of all ages and abilities. With your PSIA-AASI certification and instructional experience, you bring a level of expertise, professionalism, and passion that elevates our Learning Center and inspires confidence in every student you teach.
In this role, you’ll provide high-quality ski and/or snowboard instruction in both group and private settings, creating a safe, fun, and welcoming environment that aligns with our ethos of “Your Mountain Home.” You’ll work with everyone, from young first-timers to seasoned skiers and riders seeking refinement, guiding their progression with patience, enthusiasm, and technical insight.
Certified Instructors are mentors, role models, and ambassadors of our mountain culture. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow instructors and departments to ensure every guest receives exceptional service, while continuing your own professional development through clinics, training, and on-snow learning.

This is a part-time, seasonal position
Qualifications & Experience
- 18 years of age or older
- Current PSIA-AASI Level I or higher certification, or foreign equivalent
- Prior experience instructing skiing and/or snowboarding for an organized ski and snowboard school
- Ability to ski and/or snowboard safely, linking round turns on intermediate (blue) groomed terrain at Cooper Spur and Mt. Hood Meadows
- Passion for teaching people and the mountain environment
- Strong communication and guest services skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must have sufficient sight, speech and hearing abilities to learn skills, follow and provide directions and instruction to guests
- Ability to read and reply to email communications in a professional and timely manner
- Must provide own equipment (e.g. skis, snowboard, ski/snowboard boots, ski poles, gloves, goggles, thermal layers, etc.)
- Ability to work 5 days a week during Christmas break(Dec 20-Jan
4) excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and all weekends from Jan 10-Mar 15 including MLK and Presidents Day Mondays - Submit to a background check to work with minors
Compensation:
- Starting Wage: $20.75 - $28.85 hourly depending on certification(s)
