Job Description POSITION SUMMARYThe Classroom Teacher promotes and develops successful learning environments for students by performing instructional and related duties in accordance with District policies and the teacher contract. This role requires maintaining a cooperative and professional attitude with students, parents, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Valid State of Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement(s) for the position (or the ability to obtain one).
Professionalism: Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information and act as a positive role model for students.
Communication: Proficient oral and written communication; ability to present before community groups, staff, and students.
Collaboration: Ability to work harmoniously with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and professional teams.
Adaptability: Proficient in using computers, and District-specific automated systems; ability to work in a fast-paced or stressful setting.
Independence: Capacity to work effectively without close supervision and follow complex directions.
Judgment: Ability to assess situations swiftly and act appropriately for the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Curriculum Design: Develop instruction aligned with national, state, and district standards; utilize current and relevant research-based instructional principles.
Differentiated Learning: Plan programs of study tailored to age, individual needs, and interests; participate in IEP and 504 meetings to ensure accommodations are met.
Assessment: Regularly assess student accomplishments and maintain accurate records using the District’s approved grade book.
Classroom Environment: Maintain a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment; develop clear behavioral expectations and handle routine discipline.
Compliance: Pass annual required online trainings by the assigned deadline and follow all District protocols for reporting absences.
Reporting: Complete and submit purchase orders, inventory reports, and required paperwork accurately and on time.
Substitute Readiness: Prepare daily lesson plans that are usable by substitute teachers.
Supervision: Supervise students in various settings and oversee classroom aides (student or adult) when assigned.
Professional Growth: Attend staff meetings, in-services, and workshops to continuously improve teaching ability.
Efficiency: Perform work in an organized, timely, and quality manner.
Professionalism: Maintain a punctual, dependable, and friendly attitude toward supervisors, staff, students, and the general public.
Representation: Demonstrate personal habits and appearances that serve as positive models for the student body.
Communication: Proactively communicate concerns with administration and work cooperatively with the school community.

Salary: $47,813 to $85,520 Per Year
