The Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Integrated Strategic Solutions (ISSE) engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Level Mechanical Engineer that is passionate about the development of electronics individual equipment enclosures and integration of items into rack level assemblies. These designs will contain a mixture of high-power componentry and radio frequency (RF) shielding considerations, as well as challenging size, weight, and power dissipation requirements.
This position will require ownership and coordinating with a highly cross-functional team to ensure quality and compliance of designs throughout the entirety of their life cycles. The selected candidate will be instrumental in driving innovation in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment supporting military communications missions.

This is an ONSITE position located in Richardson, TX.
What You Will DoCommunicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers as well as non-technical team members.
Conduct and provide constructive feedback during peer reviews. Mentor and document knowledge to provide technical guidance to both members of own team and beyond.
Interface with a cross functional team, such as Electrical and Systems engineering, to ensure requirements compliance throughout the entirety of a product’s lifecycle.
Work proactively and in a self-driven manner with an integrated product team (IPT) to manage project scope and budget, as well as identify risks and opportunities.
Participate in and lead investigations into highly complex, open-ended tasks. Search for and identify root cause of issues.
Create military compliant designs that incorporate custom machined/sheet metal parts with a selection of commercial off the shelf items as required.
Contribute to prototyping and testing activities to verify product requirements compliance.
Identify risks and opportunities as well as mitigation plans for established risks.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, CATIA, NX, or similar) and the ability to apply best practices with said tools.
Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Background in commercial industry standards and military electronics packaging form factors, chassis design, and electromechanical applications.
Experience with material selection for thermal, weight and corrosion considerations in an aerospace/defense environment.
