Professional Engineer (P.E.) – Broadband Infrastructure
Location:
Hybrid – Based out of our Nyssa, Oregon or Seneca, MO offices
Position Type:
Full-Time
At Rally Networks, we deliver fast, reliable fiber-optic internet with small-town values. Unlike large national corporations, we are deeply rooted in the communities we serve. We believe in building strong, lasting connections—both online and off—by expanding high-performance infrastructure to rural and underserved areas.
Right now, we are embarking on some of our biggest expansions yet. Backed by federal grant programs including USDA ReConnect and BEAD, we are building extensive next-generation fiber networks designed to serve rural communities for decades.
To help make it happen, we’re looking for a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine, approachable and hands-on style.
At Rally, how you work with people matters just as much as what you know.
The Opportunity:Cradle-to-Grave Ownership
This isn’t a corporate desk job where you simply review plans or pass files back and forth with outside consultants.
We’re looking for a P.E. who wants true, full-lifecycle ownership—someone who enjoys digging into the details, solving problems and seeing a project through from the first design to the final build.
You will serve as a lead hands-on architect for our outside plant networks, taking projects from initial GIS mapping and engineering through construction and federal closeout.
And because broadband construction rarely goes exactly according to plan, we need someone who is responsive and nimble—comfortable making decisions, adjusting when circumstances change and helping the team find a practical path forward.
What You’ll DoHands-On OSP Design:
Take the lead on end-to-end network architecture. You’ll actively use GIS mapping, AutoCAD and fiber design tools to engineer efficient aerial and buried rural fiber routes.
Uphold RUS Standards:
Serve as an internal authority on Rural Utilities Service (RUS) compliance, ensuring adherence to RUS specifications across engineering designs, material forecasting and construction practices.
Lead Projects from Start to Finish:
Help drive major grant-funded projects from cradle to grave, including project schedules, budgets, material needs, construction milestones and federal requirements.
Own Quality and Engineering Standards:
Establish rigorous design standards, review field data, troubleshoot geographic and construction challenges, and provide the professional engineering validation and stamps required for our deployments.
Solve Problems in Real Time:
When something changes in the field, you won’t simply send an email and wait. You’ll work collaboratively with the people involved to understand the issue, identify options and keep the project moving.
Pitch In Where Needed:
We’re a collaborative organization. There will be times when the best answer is simply to roll up your sleeves and help the team get something across the finish line.
Professional Credentials:
You are a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in good standing or have the ability to obtain reciprocity in our operating states.
OSP Expertise:
You have proven, hands‑on experience in Outside Plant engineering and understand rural fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) architecture, pole loading, permitting, and aerial and buried construction methods.
RUS Knowledge:
You bring solid familiarity with RUS engineering specifications and federal grant build compliance and understand what it takes to design and document a network that can withstand a federal audit.
Technical
Skills:
You are highly proficient with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, IQGeo or equivalent systems, as well as CAD…
