VAT Compliance Specialist

VAT Compliance Specialist | Amsterdam (or Berlin)

Position: EMEA VAT Compliance Specialist reporting to the EMEA VAT Compliance Manager based in Amsterdam.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely completion and submission of all indirect tax returns for entities in EMEA.
• Liaise with outsourced submission partner for indirect tax submissions in all European jurisdictions.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet positions related to indirect taxes.
• Manage compliance with requirements for Intrastat, statistical reporting, EU Sales list.
• Digitally submit indirect tax data to government portals and ensure payments are made.
• Contact relevant tax authorities for information requests or audits.
• Monitor status of payables and receivables with tax authorities related to return submissions, penalties or fines.

Qualifications:

• University degree in finance or tax.
• 4+ years of VAT compliance experience.
• Excellent knowledge of EU/EMEA VAT.
• Experience with VAT automation (e.g., Vertex) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact at various levels within the organization.
• Fluent in English.
• EU based and working from Amsterdam or Berlin; no relocation allowance will be granted.
