The City of Sherwood Police Department is looking for Lateral Police Officers.
As a certified Police Officer, these positions perform law enforcement and crime prevention work including discovery, investigation, report preparation and patrol to enforce state and local laws. In these important roles, the successful candidates will oversee police program areas that may require additional specialized training to include conducting trainings and orientations to volunteers, students and newly assigned personnel in a variety of policies, procedures and best practices.
Shift work is a requirement for this position.
Successful candidates will be placed in an eligible pool.
COMPENSATION AND INCENTIVESLateral candidates may be offered a base salary commensurate with experience up to the maximum salary rate. Police Officers are eligible to receive additional compensation for possessing the highest professional certification and advanced education as follows:
- Intermediate DPSST Certificate – 4%
- Advanced DPSST Certificate – 8%
- Associate Degree – 3%
- Bachelor's Degree – 6%
- Residency within Sherwood City limits – $125 per month
- Fluency in Spanish – $250 per month
