Base Pay Range

$73,000.00/yr - $87,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

The Flight Paramedic works with the Flight Nurse to deliver advanced critical care to patients of Life Flight Network and renders care according to the guidelines and protocols of the organization.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Paramedic, preferably in a large metropolitan area.
  • Current licensure and/or certification:
    Paramedic certification as appropriate to assigned location; BLS; ACLS; PALS; PHTLS; NRP; FP‑C exam within one year of hire and certification within two years of hire; completion of Department of Transportation Air Medical Curriculum within six months of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license (Oregon, Idaho, Washington or Montana) with at least three years of driving experience.
  • Weight limit: maximum 250 pounds fully outfitted.
  • Passport and/or entry into Canada may be required based on location assignment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate and work with a variety of people in highly stressful situations.
  • Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed‑wing call shifts.
General Accountabilities and Essential Functions Clinical Quality
  • Work with the Flight Nurse in delivery of age‑appropriate patient care (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
  • Perform procedures as necessary: oral intubation, administration of paralytic drugs, needle thoracostomy, intravenous and intraosseous access.
  • Assist in providing accurate and complete patient care documentation.
  • Assist with equipment retrieval, return, cleaning, restocking, inventory checks, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment in working order.
  • Assist with patient follow‑up to referring hospitals or agencies.
  • Support day‑to‑day operations and statistical data compilation.
Safety
  • Help ensure safe operation of the aircraft for the protection of patients, crew members, and personnel on the scene.
  • Enforce LFN safety policies and assist the pilot in navigation, take‑off, landing, and in‑flight procedures.
Business Development
  • Participate in development of LFN business and operations plans to meet medical transport service and financial performance goals.
  • Encourage a favorable public opinion of LFN through personal contact with patients, community agencies, and hospitals.
  • Provide flight education to the public as requested.
