Position SummaryThis position is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and accessible electronic clinical patient information by scanning and indexing documents. This includes scanning and retrieving patient medical records in a timely manner, checking patient chart for accuracy and completeness, copying medical records, and scanning all incoming patient material. Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting, communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Upholds patient confidentiality by adhering to professional standards and all hospital and department policies.
RequirementsEducation
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
ExperienceGeneral office, clerical, computer and public relations knowledge required. 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting such as family practice preferred.
Job Knowledge & SkillsAbility to proceed on own initiative using independent judgment and discretion. Knowledge of computer technology; including electronic health record system, word processing, and spreadsheet. Familiarity with medical records administration, including HIPAA and electronic medical records. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits. Must demonstrate the ability to use office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, fax machines and copier machines.
Must be proficient in computer skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.
