Morrow County Health District has a Full-Time opening for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Paramedic.

This position will provide pre-hospital medical care for the sick and injured to include scene management, appropriate clinical interventions and transportation to a hospital for all patients requesting or requiring care. This position will also assist licensed medical staff in the hospital emergency room setting within the paramedic scope of practice as outlined in OAR .
Minimum Qualifications:- Hold current licensure by the Oregon Health Authority as a Paramedic required.
- Must complete agency-provided Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) training prior to independent ambulance operation, or possess proof of prior completion meeting EVOC 3 (National Safety Council) or NFPA standards upon hire.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Three (3) years licensed driving experience preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a 9-1-1 prehospital ambulance system preferred.
- Respond in an appropriate manner and within time limitations to all assigned incidents.
- Operate an ambulance safely and appropriately in compliance with Oregon Motor Vehicle Code and state emergency vehicle standards.
Provide timely and appropriate interventions for identified health issues consistent with patient treatment protocols approved by the EMS Medical Director. - Assess and manage the scene of emergency incidents consistent with the requirements of the national Incident Command System (ICS) framework, ensuring patient and responder safety.
- Provide all required care for each assigned patient in accordance with federal and state regulations, district policies and procedures and the current approved patient care protocols, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) guidelines established by the American Heart Association.
- Extricate entrapped patients in collaboration with rescue agencies, ensuring patient and responder safety.
Remain at the assigned duty station and available for emergency response, patient care activities, and assigned duties throughout the scheduled shift unless authorized by a supervisor.
Continually reassess all assigned patients, modifying therapeutic interventions appropriately.
Appropriately administer medications and fluids as authorized under District standing orders and medical direction.
Document each patient contact in the electronic patient record system, giving a clear written description of the assessment and all subsequent interventions.
