The HR Manager is an on-site, hands‑on, collaborative HR partner to business leaders and employees. The incumbent is responsible for localized management and delivery of HR operations and programs such as policy interpretation and compliance, talent acquisition and onboarding, employee and labor relations, record maintenance, reporting, leave administration, employee development, performance management, and compensation.
Responsibilities- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Collaborate and align with centralized HR methods and programs for benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, learning and development, rewards, payroll.
- Seek synergies and alignment with organizational processes and policies, maintaining local practices in an organized way.
- Manage Leaves of Absence, Workers Compensation, FMLA, and ADA Accommodations, maintaining records and coordinating with outside agencies and vendors.
- Administer affirmative action plan and promote diversity, equity and inclusion at the location.
- Ensure job descriptions are updated annually and provide local and regional salary information to assist management in determining appropriate pay rates.
- Manage employee‑relations issues, including discipline, union contract negotiations, grievances, arbitration, and related labor‑relations issues.
- Guide leaders through performance management activities such as disciplinary reviews and terminations.
- Support continuous learning and development through training, performance goal setting and reviews, and succession planning.
- Model and promote teamwork and company values.
- Coordinate local employee special events such as open houses, cookouts, and picnics.
- Maintain accurate employee records using the Human Resources Information System and local payroll methods; process retirement paperwork.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in a progressive human resource position with supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English communication and listening skills.
- Ability to think critically, make decisions, and solve problems with timeliness, detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to perform, organize, and prioritize work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
- Ability to apply general policies and objectives to decision making.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems and processes.
- Proficiency with computer programs for data input, storage, retrieval, and report generation.
