The Wilkie Law Group is looking for a legal assistant to join our team. We are looking for a reliable client-facing team member who will deliver a professional and friendly first impression to all clients. You will be responsible for assisting clients through phone and email, data entry, filing and various associated clerical duties. The Legal Assistant will perform various routine clerical duties to include greeting clients, answering phones, assisting clients, data entry, and filing under the supervision of the Paralegal.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Greets clients in a polite manner by answering phones, directing calls to appropriate individuals, and preparing detailed and accurate records of messages.
- Performs clerical duties including scheduling appointments, creating professional email and letters, filing, and mail processing (including registered mail).
- Maintains files related to office activities, business transactions, and other matters manually and electronically.
- Inventories and restocks supplies and maintains a clean and organized office.
- Commits to the firm’s values and maintains accountability to the responsibilities assigned.
- Other duties as assigned include driving to multiple county courthouses.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Punctual with a strong attendance history.
- Ability to effectively communicate through phone calls, and professional business email and letter writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in dealing with conflict.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new technology and software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years (2) clerical experience in a legal office, preferred, OR
- Equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position.
