Pay Rate: $25-$32/hr.
Employment Type: Contract; ASAP through end of January 2026
Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Portland law firm to hire a temporary Paralegal for a short-term assignment expected to begin ASAP and continue through January 2026. In this role, you’ll support a high-volume practice area and collaborate closely with a team of paralegals and attorneys to keep cases progressing efficiently. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of paralegal experience, preferably within collections, although strong litigation experience is also welcome.
Experience supporting matters in both Oregon and Washington is required.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare litigation documents, including demands, complaint packages, summons, exhibits, and default pleadings
- Support post‑judgment work by preparing writs of garnishment, writs of execution, and summary judgment materials
- Coordinate filing and service with legal assistants to ensure timely and accurate submissions
- Conduct online and general research to locate defendants and support case development
- Maintain organized, detailed, and confidential case files in a fast‑paced environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree with a Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate, or a Paralegal certificate
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience with a degree/certification, or 5+ years of experience without
- Experience supporting matters in both Oregon and Washington
- Proficiency with relevant software and research tools (Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Courtlink, PACER, SOS, and similar platforms)
- Strong drafting skills, exceptional organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
