About Your Role

Our business model (B2B2B) is driven by strong embedded channel partnerships with large organizations in order to offer our payment solution to their suppliers. When those partner relationships thrive, it drives supplier adoption, and our business benefits.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our small and mighty team of tenured and talented engineers to build the next generation of embedded finance.

Because of our unique approach, we pride ourselves on our ability to scale our business without scaling headcount. But, a lean team means accountability and attention to detail are paramount, as is a willingness to do the work vs. managing the work.

This is an opportunity with enormous upside for the right individual that can bring a mix of problem solving, execution, with a bias to action.

This role is WFH but we're looking for someone based in Portland to occasionally work alongside other local team members.

Responsibilities

• ~80/20 split between backend and frontend development
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems
• Balance technical debt, system health, reliability, and security
• Own and drive technical projects from ideation to deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Credit, and Operations
• Improve system performance, security, and reliability through continuous optimization
• Foster a culture of technical excellence

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of software engineering experience
• Preferably in fintech or SaaS
• Computer Science degree or equivalent in similar field
• Strong proficiency in backend development (Node, Typescript)
• Experience in frontend development (React)
• Experience with Postgres, and AWS
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions
• Experience across the full development lifecycle, from product definition to delivery
• Strong track record of delivering user-facing products at scale with high quality

Nice to Haves

• Fintech, payments, or technology-enabled financial services experience is strongly preferred
• Experience building fintech or credit products for SMBs
• Comfort with core finance, lending, accounting concepts
