Under the supervision of the IT Manager. The Network and Telecommunications Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's network and telecommunication systems. This role ensures the stability and integrity of all voice, data, and wireless network services across multiple locations. The administrator will manage network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VoIP systems, while also monitoring network performance and resolving connectivity issues.
This position plays a key role in maintaining secure and reliable communications and contributes to infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and vendor coordination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Maintain and support VoIP systems, PBX hardware/software, SIP trunks, and related telecom infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce network security measures including firewalls, access control, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Perform regular network performance analysis, patching, and apply optimizations as needed.
- Manage and support network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network activity using tools like Solar Winds, PRTG, or equivalent.
- Coordinate with third-party telecom vendors and service providers for service delivery and issue resolution.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and change logs.
- Provide technical support to end-users and helpdesk staff for network or telecom-related issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution of network-related backup and failover procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in network and telecommunications administration required.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP), DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies required.
- Familiarity with network security tools and best practices required.
- Scripting knowledge for automation of routine tasks preffered.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team required.
- Experience with VoIP and telephony systems required.
