What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend services and RESTful APIs for FHIR/SMART on FHIR applications
  • Implement FHIR resource models, data mappings, and transformations for EMR/EHR and clinical registry integrations
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and clinical teams to convert healthcare requirements into scalable backend solutions
  • Ensure interoperability with EMR/EHR systems using SMART on FHIR standards
  • Participate in various testing phases including unit testing, API validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java backend development, particularly in building RESTful APIs
  • Strong hands‑on experience with FHIR and SMART on FHIR standards
  • Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts, along with interoperability workflows
  • Proficiency in testing practices including unit testing, API testing, integration testing, and UAT support
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops tools and practices such as CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of security and privacy standards in healthcare (HIPAA, PHIPA, GDPR)
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation for APIs and architecture
