What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Lead user research efforts using various methodologies such as user interviews and design thinking workshops
  • Communicate potential costs and tradeoffs of different research approaches while managing incomplete requirements
  • Create design deliverables ranging from early sketches to high-fidelity prototypes
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure design implementation matches intent
  • Integrate AI-powered tools into the design and development lifecycle to enhance UX deliverables
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • 7+ years of experience as a UX researcher/designer or in a related position within digital product teams
  • Strong portfolio showcasing process and examples of native product design work
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and take initiative in an autonomous work setting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Familiarity with the US Web Design System and accessibility standards (Section 508 and WCAG 2.1AA)
  • Experience working with government agencies
  • Knowledge of complex domains and systems
  • Previous involvement in outreach, recruitment, and hiring efforts
  • Strong willingness to utilize AI tools to improve design outcomes
