Job Description

Field Service Technician (Contract) — Portland, OR (On-Site)

Make a direct impact on patient care by keeping critical medical devices reliable and ready to use. In this short-term contract, you’ll work independently inside hospital environments to complete preventive maintenance tasks on equipment located in patient rooms—often while rooms are occupied—helping ensure devices stay safe, updated, and available when they’re needed most.

Overview

Masimo Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician to support Portland-area hospitals (Providence Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent's Medical Center). You’ll perform basic preventive maintenance (PM), primarily replacing batteries and updating software across a variety of devices, while following hospital protocols and documenting work in real time via mobile systems.

• Location: Portland, OR (supporting Providence Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent's Medical Center)
• Schedule: 40 hours/week, on-site
• Assignment Length: Approx. 6–8 weeks
• Pay Range: $30–$40/hour (DOE)
• Parking: Parking costs reimbursed, travel time and mileage between locations reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventive maintenance on medical equipment in active hospital settings
• Replace device batteries and complete software updates on a variety of devices
• Document all work electronically on mobile devices during each workday (live system)
• Communicate clearly with hospital staff and follow all hospital requirements
• Use basic hand tools as needed (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, SD cards)

Must-Have Qualifications

• 1 year of technical experienceor an AA degree / Biomedical Engineer background
• Credentialing to access hospital environments (Vendormate or equivalent)
• Ability to enter and track data in computer systems through completion
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in clinical/hospital environments
• Comfort using basic tools

Nice-to-Have

• Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Local to the Portland area (commute-friendly)

Training

• Online training (Zoom or Teams) with the Tech Service team in Irvine
