We are seeking a Safety Manager whose main role is to ensure that Windwave maintains safety compliance and reduces or prevents workplace accidents by promoting health and safety awareness and education to all employees. This position is responsible for identifying potential workplace hazards and improving existing conditions. The Safety Manager will work with the Windwave crews working in and around construction and maintenance sites, and ensure they are provided with the necessary services and equipment to work safely where the threat of construction hazards and other environmental hazards could be present.
This position will assist in administering safety policies and create a culture that prioritizes safety. The Safety Manager may be required to perform a variety of other duties assigned in addition to those listed below.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Supports management in activities to foster a positive safety culture.
- Conducts, leads, and reviews regular inspections/audits both on the jobsite and the facility ensuring that identified issues are corrected.
- Ensures activities and operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations (local, state, federal), ordinances, municipal, policies, procedures, and work instructions, etc.
- Evaluates health and safety practice and procedures for risk assessment and following legal guidelines.
- Partners with Senior Management to create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures.
- Partners with HR Manager to handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Conducts incident investigations into workplace incidents, determines root cause; responsible for implementing sustainable corrective measures to avoid future occurrences; ensures all incidents are reported properly.
- Proactively works with the manager to identify and resolve issues; engages with teams to ensure safety roles, responsibilities and expectations are understood by all.
- Coordinates and works with relevant management regarding safety issues.
- Ensures all required safety reporting is completed timely and accurately.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations to management in incident investigations.
- Additional duties as may be assigned.

- Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations as they apply to construction.
- Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective measures.
- Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards.
- Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
- Good organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, especially when handling an accident or incident in an emergency situation.
- Must be self-driven, reliable, and able to perform their tasks without daily direction.
- Must be familiar with, and be comfortable being on, active construction sites.
- Work independently and be a team player within the department and the organization.
- High degree of focus and attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Work completely and accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
- Work in a fast-pace environment and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- Help promote a safe working environment by following and promoting safety procedures.
- High school or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience as a safety coordinator or trainer in a well-structured construction safety program.
- Certified in risk management and health/safety management.
- Previous field construction supervision experience.
- First Aid certified.
