General Supervisor

Position Summary

The Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor provides leadership and direction to ensure the effective management of people, processes, and utilization of resources. Responsible for inventory management of all products and for overseeing operations of the warehouse and shipping processes. Acts additionally as primary coverage/backup for Shift Supervision, Scheduling, and Safety as needed. Manages, mentors, and develops associates in a cohesive can‑do team atmosphere. Ensures that our customers receive our product on time every time and always in world‑class condition.

• Supervise Warehouse/Shipping employees and oversee daily operations.
• Responsible for the performance of general maintenance of machinery used in the warehouse.
• Communicates with drivers to ensure efficient transfer of products in and out of the warehouse to truck and/or rail.
• Manage workflow within Shipping and Receiving Departments.
• Oversee data system for storage and tracking of incoming goods and outgoing shipments.
• Ensure the appropriate audits and inspections are performed so that Warehouse locations are operating in compliance with performance expectations.
• Establish layout and ensure efficient space utilization of the warehouse.
• Oversee forklift fleet management to support deliveries.
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
• Manage warehouse KPI’s, produce reports and analyze data (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc.).
• Covers scheduling responsibilities as needed, which include organizing orders to create efficient schedule, ordering raw materials, monitoring production, order entry, etc.
• Acts as primary backup to Safety Manager to ensure safety standards are followed, conducts training, completes reporting and investigations, as needed.
• Covers Shift Supervisory duties as emergency and vacation relief whenever needed.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, in logistics, business, finance, or related discipline. Additional experience may substitute for education.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing warehouse or production environment is required.
• Strong people leader and experienced in driving change. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment where leadership team must work closely with only minimal boundaries.
• Hands‑on experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
• Strong decision making and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and concerns quickly.
