Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Government Camp

Mulberry Talent Partners is proud to partner with a well‑established, highly regarded recreation and hospitality organization with deep roots in the Mt. Hood community. Best known for its winter operations, this four‑season destination also offers spring, summer, and fall activities, with winter serving as the organization’s peak and most complex operating season.

We are seeking a hands‑on and strategic accounting and finance leader—someone who can provide operational leadership today and grow into the CFO role in the future. This is a great opportunity for a values‑driven Controller ready to step into a key leadership position with long‑term potential.

Important note:

This role is primarily onsite. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to the mountain 4‑5 days per week, particularly during peak winter operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee all general accounting functions, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, benefit expense reconciliation, and monthly close and consolidation
  • Directly manage payroll and benefits administration
  • Develop and execute departmental strategies, goals, and performance metrics
  • Lead monthly reconciliations for significant balance sheet accounts and support tax planning and reporting
  • Review financial results and provide insight into fixed and variable cost management
  • Coach, develop, and mentor accounting staff; oversee annual performance reviews and compensation adjustments
  • Ensure strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and support operational integrity
  • Support banking relationships, including borrowings, repayments, and compliance forecasting
  • Administer the company’s 401(k) program and manage the annual audit process
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with 1+ year in a Controller or equivalent leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • MBA, CMA, or CPA (active or inactive) preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office; experience with Net Suite and/or Dayforce is a plus
  • Ability to lead in a seasonal, operationally complex environment
  • A collaborative leadership style and interest in long‑term growth within the organization
  • Competitive annual compensation
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including 401(k) and paid time off
  • Mountain passes for the employee and household family members
  • The opportunity to work in a mission‑driven organization centered around outdoor recreation and community
