Receiving Supervisor

Purpose

The Overnight Receiving Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. In addition, this role supervises warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators while managing the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs.

• 1‑3 years of previous supervisory experience (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment)
• Excellent interpersonal, team building, delegating, and follow‑up skills
• Ability to work effectively with other departments
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic math proficiency
• Proficient with Windows‑based computer systems
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines
• Availability to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons

• Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving
• Direct day‑to‑day warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control
• Oversee Storage Buy transactions, receiving errors, and product staging
• Maintain warehouse equipment and communicate repairs to CEM and/or Operations Manager
• Implement warehouse safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations
• Ensure all associates are trained and follow standard operating procedures
• Manage the progressive disciplinary process, including counseling and written warnings
• Handle employee inquiries and resolve problems
• Coordinate with other departments for efficient warehouse operations
• Complete necessary activity reports for management
• Monitor paperwork flow from Receiving to Inventory Control Specialist for timely data entry
• Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
• Execute Storage Buy Audit COP
• Stage products for counting and inspection
• Store products properly to conserve space and meet safety procedures
• Oversee inventory rotation within the warehouse
• Perform other related duties as directed by management

The employee frequently works in a warehouse environment and is exposed to moving vehicles in a moderate to noisy noise level.

Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally and 20–30 pounds of force frequently, with a constant force up to 20 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The employee frequently stands, walks, reaches with arms and hands, climbs or balances, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
