Position Overview
As a Maintenance Specialist, you play a critical role to reduce downtime, supporting continuous production, and enabling high-speed operation typical in aluminum can manufacturing. The maintenance specialist is a senior-level technician responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment through advanced troubleshooting, precision repair, and maintenance. This role contributes to major equipment rebuilds, capital projects, and process improvements. This professional brings deep mechanical expertise, collaborates across shifts and functions, and helps onboard and upskill other team members through hands-on training and knowledge sharing.
The Millersburg plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) with a rotating schedule (4 days one week/3 days the following week). Schedules will rotate from day to night shift every 4 weeks.

- Complex Troubleshooting: diagnoses problems beyond surface-level symptoms and resolves root causes
- Maintenance Planning: coordinates activities efficiently with multiple stakeholders
- Communication: shares knowledge clearly across shifts, vendors, and support teams
- Attention to Detail: maintains precision in mechanical repairs and documentation
- Safety Orientation: embeds safety into planning and execution of all tasks
- Reliability Focus: consistently enables high equipment availability and stable operations
- Collaboration: works effectively across functions, shifts, and teams
- Coaching and Training: supports capability-building for production and maintenance teams
- Advanced mechanical repair and assembly
- Equipment rebuilding and alignment
- Complex mechanical diagnostics and root cause analysis
- Use of precision tools and measuring instruments
- Understanding of lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) familiarity
- Maintenance KPIs and tracking
- Safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues, troubleshoot and repair intricate problems in core production and auxiliary equipment
- Rebuild and maintain key process equipment, repair or replace large mechanical components to restore full functionality and reliability
- Plan and coordinate maintenance work, align activities with vendors and internal teams to minimize disruptions and meet schedules
- Optimize equipment uptime and efficiency, execute maintenance strategies that reduce downtime and improve line performance
- Contribute to capital projects and rebuilds, support major equipment overhauls and upgrades with technical knowledge and hands-on execution
- Monitor maintenance KPIs and performance metrics, track data to assess effectiveness and guide improvement actions
- Apply safety standards in all tasks, ensure work is performed safely and supports a zero-incident culture
- Support on-the-job training (OJT), share expertise and assist in developing mechanical skills in other production technician or specialist roles
- May be subject to hot/cold working conditions
- Loud/noisy environment
- Standing and walking for prolonged periods
- Climbing (stairs and other equipment as necessary)
- 4+ years in industrial maintenance
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Technical Qualification (Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance)
- Computers skills
- Hiring Salary Range: $42.38/hr
- Eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
