This position works under the direction of the Registered Nurse providing direct care and general duties of all ages. Performs courier and transporter functions, collects data through observation and instrumentation, and assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.

Education:

High School graduate or GED required.

Knowledge and abilities:
Utilizes proper grammar and legible handwriting in accurately recording data and services provided.

Demonstrates competence in required clinical skills. Effective communications with the multi‑disciplinary team and patients in a manner that fosters the team concept and supports the core values of the organization.

Registration, Certification, Licensure Requirement: CPR trained.

• Provides routine services for patient and nursing units as assigned.
• Assists the Registered Nurse in the process of admitting, transferring, and discharging patients and in the environmental orientation of patients.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, lifting, turning, repositioning, ambulation, and reapplying restraints.
• Provides measures for patient comfort and hygiene.
• Monitors and observes patient status; collects, records, and communicates data as per policy and procedure.
• Performs courier and transportation services.
• Assists in maintaining adequate supplies for the unit.
• Performs preps, catheterizations, and other sterile procedures.
• Participates in meetings, in‑services, orientation of personnel and projects as needed to maintain knowledge and competency.
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Mission and Core Values.
• Adheres to the standards and policies of the Corporate Responsibility Program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations and to report to the designated Manager any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts.
