Veterinary Assistant

Bayshore Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, and surgical workflows
• Assisting in surgery prep and anesthetic recovery
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 17 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments. Exotic animal experience is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday

Bayshore Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary hospital in Warrenton, OR, committed to high-quality medicine, compassionate patient care, and continued professional development. Our collaborative team includes 5 veterinarians, 3 CVTs, and experienced support staff.

We care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets, including birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Our comprehensive services include wellness and preventative care, dentistry, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, and therapeutic laser therapy.

Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and a full IDEXX in-house laboratory, allowing our team to provide advanced diagnostics and treatment in a supportive, team-oriented environment. This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
