Bakery/BBQ Clerk Job Description

Obtains requested Deli or Bakery items for customers, wraps or packages items, uses cash register to total order, accepts payment and makes change. While working in Deli, the clerk will fry chicken, jo‑jos, burritos, and put chicken on a rotisserie in the oven for baking. The clerk also makes sandwiches, salads, pizzas, popcorn, cotton candy, and slices meats or cheese on a slicer.

While working in Bakery the clerk slices bread and packages bakery products. While working on BBQ the clerk cooks menu items and serves customers. The clerk also stocks and cleans Deli/Bakery areas as needed.

• Use hand, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment.
• Work in a standing position from 4‑8 hours a day.
• Use good suggestive selling techniques to educate customers about products in Bakery and Deli.
• Locate products for customers, prepare desired requests, price, label and package product.
• Keep workstations clean and sanitary.
• Slice meats, cheeses, ladle salads, and retrieve doughnuts, pastries, and cakes from cases for customers.
• Restock products as needed and garnish as needed.
• Cook BBQ menu items and serve them to customers.
• Work outside in cold and hot weather including rain, snow, and sun.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Any duties and responsibilities of the frying or baking staff.
• Any duties and responsibilities of the cake decorator.

This position works every weekend Friday – Sunday with the occasional holiday.
