HVAC Technician (Active Secret Clearance Required)
Fluor Corporation is seeking a HVAC Technician to perform installs, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment in a customer‑owned mission‑critical facility.
Job Description- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Analyze, plan, and perform preventive maintenance of various HVAC systems.
- Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair pumps (chill water, heating water, condensation).
- Install conduit, wiring, hard‐drawn copper tubing, and possibly ductwork.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify HVAC systems.
- Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statutes.
- Maintain maintenance records as required by regulations.
- Learn and evaluate building control systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
- Order and maintain parts needed for HVAC equipment.
- Work in live facilities following safe work practices (e.g., lock‑out/tag‑out).
- Manage relationships with major vendor accounts.
- Maintain a high quality of service at all times.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Properly maintain and safeguard assets.
- Collaborate with team members and other trades (e.g., electrical) on projects.
- Operate safely in varying environmental conditions, including high noise, fumes, extreme temperatures, and elevated places.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- 4 years of education and directly related experience, or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job‑related technical knowledge necessary for HVAC maintenance.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under time constraints.
- Active Secret clearance, upgradeable to TS/SCI.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Journeyman‑level HVAC experience or ability to acquire skills.
- Certified as CFC Universal or ability to obtain certification.
- Physical ability to lift/carry 15–50 pounds, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions.
- Availability for on‑call emergencies, after‑hours work, and snow removal.
- Knowledge and experience in commercial facilities, including planning, training, scheduling, safe work practices, and incident‑free operations.
- Forklift or man‑lift operator license available or ability to acquire one.
- Computer proficiency and experience working with plant control systems.
- Work extended and irregular hours with frequent interruptions.
- Journeyman’s license.
- Forklift/Manlift operator license.
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC experience; data‑processing facility experience a plus.
- Experience with large commercial equipment (centrifugal chillers, 40–100 hp pumps, closed‑loop systems, dry coolers, water softeners, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively with multicultural personnel.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and organizational skills.
- Good multi‑tasking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.

CompensationSalary range: $49,000.00 – $90,000.00. The market rate is typically at the mid‑point of the range, with variations based on qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions.
