While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The Stablecoin team comprises seven members, including two IC3s, one IC4, two IC5s, and one IC6, with three open headcounts. The new hire will have opportunities for both mentoring and being mentored. The team works closely with two sister teams focused on Stable coins UX for Retail and adding new Stable coins internationally.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Stablecoin team, you will drive projects that create more utility around stable coins. You will contribute to or build platforms for stablecoin issuance and growth, and you will be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for your projects. Immediate projects include issuing Canadian and Singaporean stable coins and deploying stable coins on more chains across multiple products such as Retail, Exchange, Prime, and Custody.

• Develop new services to meet critical product and business needs using industry best practices.
• Architect and design scalable systems to solve novel problems.
• Define a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems and teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn our vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, and knowledge of service-oriented architecture.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code.
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.
• Leadership skills to develop other engineers.

• Experience in rapid company growth (from startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with Blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
• Proficiency with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, Mongo
  
  DB, or Dynamo

• Experience in building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.

The ideal candidate is curious, bold, and unafraid to jump into unfamiliar codebases and systems. They should be willing to constantly push out of their comfort zone and work collaboratively across different organizations.

Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility + equity eligibility + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
