Job Overview

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant II. In this role, you will perform intermediate-level accounting and financial analysis with accuracy, timeliness, and strong adherence to established accounting principles, policies, and internal controls. You will maintain and analyze general ledger accounts, financial statements, and related reports while reviewing accounting documentation for accuracy and ensuring full compliance with professional standards and company guidelines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports/filings for the Company and its subsidiaries; analyze filing documents for variances and/or anomalies; work collaboratively with senior staff and manager in the analysis of complex accounting issues.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries; prepare and review account reconciliations; assist in the validation of general ledger balances and financial statement line items; participate in month‑end close process.
  • Participate with and provide support for internal and external audits; prepare audit work‑papers that support the various audits.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • 1‑3 years related experience in an accounting environment.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, insurance accounting principles and procedures, and the laws and regulations that apply to accounting and regulatory compliance.
  • Intermediate analytical skills to accurately analyze large volumes of numerical data.
  • Intermediate level analysis, evaluation skills & mathematical reasoning to efficiently resolve errors within a financial process or system workflow logic.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge in utilizing accounting systems for transaction processing.
  • Analytical with attention to detail, strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
Salary Range
  • $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 annually.
  • Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
  • In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.

  • Basic life insurance and AD&D at two times an employee’s annual salary, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, and Employee Assistant Plan are provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Accrual of 0.0769 hours of paid time off (PTO) per paid hour, totaling 20 days a year; 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
