Accountant, Tax Accountant, Public Accounting

Are you an experienced accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and making a meaningful impact in a smaller firm environment? Our client, an established and growing tax and accounting practice, is seeking an Accountant to join their team.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday schedule with flexible hours. Full-time preferred, though part-time arrangements may be available for the right candidate.
• Increased hours expected during tax season (mid-January through April).
• Opportunity for reduced or flexible hours outside of tax season.
• Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
• $30+ per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual tax returns (1040).
• Prepare business tax returns, including 1065, 1120, and 1120S filings.
• Assist clients with accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll-related needs.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Support year-end accounting and tax preparation activities.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding financial and tax matters.
• Utilize tax and accounting software to manage client accounts and filings.
• Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, or related experience is required.
• Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns is required.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
