Early Head/ Head Start Classroom Aide - Candidate Pool

Join Prospera Consultoria as an Early Head/Head Start Classroom Aide (32 hours per week) to assist teachers and support families in a high‑quality early childhood education environment.

To assist the Teacher and Assistant Teacher in providing and coordinating classroom services to families enrolled in the assigned classroom, ensuring high quality early childhood education standards, and following Clackamas County Children’s Commission policies and procedures.

• Assist Teacher with follow‑through and evaluation of the daily lesson plan
• Ensure the classroom is equipped with all needed materials and supplies
• Enter child behavior observation notes for individualization
• Participate in Open House and other class/center events
• Use a positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) approach to guide children
• Act as bus monitor during training or when needed
• Maintain the classroom in a neat, safe, and clutter‑free environment
• Provide child care at Family Gatherings when required
• Assist in preparing meals in accordance with CACFP and program guidelines

• Arrive on time; attend and participate in all required activities, meetings, and trainings
• Be respectful, cooperative, and reliable; actively participate in program activities
• Project a professional work image in dress and manner
• Familiarize yourself with program policies and procedures and adhere to them
• Follow agency policy/procedures for reporting suspected child abuse and/or neglect

Perform all work in compliance with the Clackamas County Children’s Commission Code of Conduct.

Respect and maintain confidentiality of information regarding enrolled children and families, personnel issues, and other program operations as appropriate.

In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and training plan; participate in training as requested.

• Work with physically active 3‑5 year old children for one or two class periods per day (each period is 3.5 hours)
• Extensive standing and walking; moderate sitting, kneeling, bending

• U.S. High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or ability to complete CDA within one year of hire (preferred)
• Knowledge of child development (preferred)
• Experience working with children ages three to five (preferred)

• Apply PBIS approach to guide child behavior
• Interact positively with families of diverse cultural and socio‑economic backgrounds
• Work cooperatively in a team environment
• Use time effectively and work with minimal direct supervision
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and an insured vehicle (or have alternative transportation)
• Maintain compliance with State of Oregon Criminal Background Registry
• Maintain current First Aid/CPR certification
• Obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handler’s Card
