TEACHER - SPECIAL EDUCATION - LRC

SALARY: We are beginning Licensed bargaining for the 2025-26 school year, which will result in an increase in salaries. Pay for the 2024-25 school year ranges from $45,171.49 to $88,774.53
, along with an additional $1,000 stipend under SB283. In addition to appropriate placement on the licensed salary schedule—accepting up to 18 years of verifiable experience from another district—we offer an annual $3,000 stipend and, when necessary, extra paid days. We also cover your PERS contribution

Qualifications
  • Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, seek professional growth, improve classroom instruction.
  • Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Other qualifications as may be established by the school district.
Job Goal

To provide the instruction of assigned students, keeping within the law, board policies and administrative regulations. Instruction is the teaching/learning process that includes student guidance, management, skills, and knowledge in grade/subject areas taught.

Essential Requirements
  • Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
  • Ability to assist in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.
  • Ability to interpret and implement all Board policies, Federal and State Laws, Administrative Regulations, and negotiated agreements.
  • Ability to assist in the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional services.
  • Ability to assist in the development of school plans and organizational procedures for the health, safety, discipline, and conduct of students as established in district procedures.
  • Ability to serve as liaison between the school and community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging parent involvement.
  • Ability to provide direction to others and to make independent judgments.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, teachers, and community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and/or parent information.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines.
  • Language skills:
    • English – Proficient in both oral and written language.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, and the general public.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Moderate to extensive degree of physical and emotional stamina.
    • Frequent and prolonged standing, walking, and sitting.
    • Ability to restrain students when necessary.
    • Frequent and prolonged talking/hearing conversations.
    • Ability to physically lift or move a student on a regular basis.
    • Possible exposure to bodily fluids due to student injury and illnesses.
