Position Summary (Natural Sciences Department)

The Natural Sciences Department at Oregon Institute of Technology, a public polytechnic university, teaches chemistry, biology and physics to undergraduate students in a variety of majors, and houses interdisciplinary undergraduate programs in Biology-Health Sciences and Environmental Sciences, as well as minors in chemistry, applied physics, biology, and sustainability. Biology courses in the Natural Sciences department directly support B.S. programs in the health professions, with an emphasis on high-quality, student-centered instruction oriented towards students’ professional success.

This position will be in‑person on our Klamath Falls campus.

Primary Position Summary

Oregon Tech is accepting applications for Anatomy and Physiology Adjunct Instructors for the Department of Natural Sciences, for Winter term 2022 and beyond. The primary purpose of this position is to teach 200‑level Anatomy & Physiology laboratories in‑person, on our Klamath Falls campus. Duties include instruction, participation in shared lab practical exams, relevant preparation for classes and maintaining appropriate records. The successful applicants will work with other faculty, staff, and administrators to deliver an integrated learning experience in A&P courses.

Some scheduling flexibility may be possible to accommodate the other commitments of well-qualified applicants.

Our online A&P course series comprises three 11‑week terms, is comprehensive among all the major bodily systems, and is intended to prepare students for Oregon Tech’s own medical imaging, dental hygiene and respiratory care programs, as well as for nursing and other allied health programs elsewhere.

Additional Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Biology or a medically related discipline, including coursework in anatomy and physiology.
  • Relevant teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or Doctoral degree in biology or a medically related discipline.
  • 1 year or more of relevant college‑level teaching experience as the instructor of record.
  • Work experience in an allied health field.
  • Expertise in anatomy and physiology, and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Availability to teach classes on a variety of days and times.
