Job Summary:
The Liberal Studies Program at OSU‑Cascades invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track full/part‑time Instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to a permanent instructional position at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs. The primary mission is to provide undergraduate level education in Spanish, fostering critical thinking and advanced content knowledge.
Anticipated start dates are September 16, 2025, December 16, 2025 or March 16, 2026.
Founded in 2001, OSU‑Cascades brings higher education to Central Oregon while leveraging the excellence of a land‑grant and research university. The campus is located near downtown Bend and surrounded by mountains, forest and high desert, offering small classes, experiential learning and a collaborative community. It serves a diverse student body, provides strong research opportunities, and is committed to sustainability and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities95%:
Teaching:
Administer and teach course(s) term‑by‑term in Spanish.
Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
5%:
Advising and mentoring students:
Advise students, be available for regular office hours, complete record‑keeping and minor administrative tasks, including assignment of grades.
What You Will NeedMaster’s degree in Spanish.
What We Would Like You to Have- PhD or terminal degree in one of the fields listed above (or a closely related field).
- Independent teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.
Work schedule may vary depending on student needs and engagement in campus and/or program activities.

Salary is commensurate with skills, education and experience.
