What will you be doing!- Ensuring the Waste Characterization Services team is appropriately trained according to CNLs training requirements and the department's Training Plan and that those qualifications are maintained up to date.
- Ensuring the department operates in a professional and respectful manner, adhering to the company’s Code of Conduct and upholding the company values in all of its daily activities.
- Ensuring safety issues are raised, reported, and addressed promptly by the team, documented according to company process, and reported to line management within the required timelines.
- Rewarding safe work execution and employee actions that demonstrate a commitment to safety and providing coaching where concerns are noted or unsafe actions are observed or reported.
- Ensuring Waste Characterization Services operations are conducted in compliance with the associated governing policies and procedures as defined in the Waste Management Program Requirements and Program Description Documents as well as all associated industry regulations.
- Providing guidance and input in the development of sampling and analysis plans, the interpretation of analytical data, and/or selection of appropriate methodologies for waste characterization.
- Investigating challenges with waste characterization execution and resolving barriers and gaps identified in the processes.
- Completing technical reviews of the Waste Characterization Sampling and Analysis Plans, Reports, and Consignment Memos.
- Representing the department in client meetings, project initiation meetings, etc and providing Subject Matter input into the development of new project plans.
- Reviewing and providing input into commercial proposals including commenting on the department’s ability to support and/or making recommendations on proposals being developed for commercial opportunities.
- Working in conjunction with the Waste Characterization leadership team (Manager, other section leads, supervisors) and waste generators to strategically plan and resource effectively to support the organizations waste characterization needs.
- Managing customer satisfaction by ensuring that requests for characterization are processed promptly and is a key interface with Waste Generator customers on support needs.
- Monitoring and reporting on system health through developing and managing system metrics.
- Overseeing the implementation of an asset management system for department assets, particularly field instruments.
- Providing people management support, encouraging the development of personal goals and objectives, addressing issues of performance management, coaching, mentoring, completing timecard approvals and performance appraisals, and reviewing and pre-approving expense requests.
- Reporting on progress, challenges, and opportunities to the Waste Characterization Manager while planning and delivering optimization and efficiencies in the team's operation to provide efficient and effective service to waste generators.
