SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday
PURPOSE:
In this role, you will be a key member of the SSBO Automation Team. We provide best-in-class solutions and support for manufacturing castings for the aerospace, energy, and medical industries. We oversee industrial robots in a variety of manufacturing processes and environments. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting SSBO’s industrial robot cells and automation team projects. The candidate must provide sound judgment and analysis when making decisions and have a high capacity for learning and growth.
AUTOMATIONTECHNICIAN:
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain a safe working environment and actively promote safety in all automation activities. Immediately report and address any unsafe conditions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve standard robotic equipment and process errors.
- Operation and programming of ABB/FANUC industrial robots via teach pendant or software.
- Communicate issues and corrections to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
- Coordinate system support, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain accurate change logs.
- Revise system and process documentation utilizing existing documentation templates and standards.
- Gather, record, analyze, and summarize data in various formats.
- Prepare technical reports of results.
- Track performance of existing systems and evaluate existing processes to support new automation initiatives.
- Ability to work between two sites 2 miles apart.
- Ability to occasionally work modified schedules to support development, installation, and system support schedules.
- Provide occasional off-shift support for 24/7 plant operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2-yr degree/certificate in science/engineering/technology or related field.
- OR 3 + years experience working with industrial robots or automated equipment.
- Programming experience.
- Logical and analytic approach to problem solving.
- Technical math, analytic geometry and trigonometry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5 years of experience operating and troubleshooting robotic or automated equipment OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR equivalent training and experience.
- Experience with ABB and FANUC robots and their related software.
- Experience with machine vision.
- Experience with Ignition, Python, SQL.
- Knowledge of ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012.
- Knowledge of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment or work with metals.
