Role Description

This is a remote freelance role for an English-Cantonese Telephonic Interpreter  Interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation services during 3-way telephonic calls. They will ensure clear communication between parties across various commercial industries while upholding confidentiality and professionalism throughout each session.

Responsibilities:

Provide consecutive interpretation during telephonic sessions between English-speaking clients and Cantonese-speaking LEPs (Limited English Proficiency speakers).

Accurately interpret conversations across industries such as insurance, energy, and technology.

Facilitate clear communication between parties while maintaining cultural sensitivity.

Ensure professionalism and confidentiality during all calls.

Utilize our modern voice portal system to deliver high-quality interpretation services.

Qualifications:

Fluency in Cantonese and English (both spoken and written).

Proven experience in interpretation (commercial or community-based interpretation experience preferred).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage calls under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Access to a reliable phone line and a quiet working environment.

Qualifications:

Ability to pass a language assessment with a minimum score of 65%.

Completion of required training and paperwork (provided by Asia Localize).

Availability to handle calls, especially during peak hours (11:00 AM 6:00 PM).
