Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in food production, is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. As a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the plant operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Location:

Clackamas, OR Pay Range: $31.97

Shift: 2nd shift (3pm to 11pm, five days a week) or 3rd shift (10pm to 6:30am, five days a week). Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required during the probationary period. What's the Job?
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies, GMP, and Global Food Safety practices.
  • Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic issues on plant equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs using blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery to ensure optimal operation.
  • Rebuild/fabrication of equipment
  • Welding mild and stainless steel
  • Complete work orders
  • Maintain logs and records
  • Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
  • Perform preventative maintenance and respond promptly to maintenance requests to maximize equipment efficiency.
What's Needed?
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical repair skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and maintain good coordination and balance.
  • LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred
