Job SummaryUnder general supervision and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating nursing care for patients and coordinating nurses care activities with other health care disciplines.
Essential Responsibilities- Assessment: Performs accurate multi‑system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care, education needs and discharge planning. Identifies deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests, re‑assesses patients throughout hospitalization, and performs complete discharge assessment.
- Planning: Develops an individualized nursing plan of care and coordinates patient care activities and discharge planning with hospital, clinic departments and community agencies. Declares priorities for patient care, delegates activities appropriately, and classifies acuity level of assigned patients.
- Implementation: Initiates appropriate measures based on protocol, accurately documents in the EMR, performs procedures correctly, administers medications, utilizes multidisciplinary approach, and applies teaching plans to address patient needs.
- Evaluation: Evaluates assessment methods, plan of care, and patients’ response to treatment, and participates in unit quality assurance activities.
Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
Education- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support
- Computer keyboarding skills.
- Must pass telemetry test within 6 months of hire or transfer to unit.
- Previous health care experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Recent experience in acute care or skilled nursing, utilizing the nursing process, effective problem solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment with dialysis, renal, diabetic, and medical patients.
- Experience with insulin drips.
- Previous telemetry experience.
- Med/Surg certification.
