PACU RN

Shift Type: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day, 4x10);
On-call rotation typically 2 days/week with some weekends;
Call shift rotation:
Friday 6:30 AM - Monday 6:30 AM;
Weekday call generally starts between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM and ends at 6:00 AM (rotating call coverage)

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

• Assess perioperative and post-anesthesia patients and prioritize care based on acuity
• Provide safe, skilled Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care and pre-anesthesia preparation
• Reconcile medications and manage pre-op medications to reduce risk
• Perform pain assessment and management with evidence-based interventions
• Obtain operative/procedural consent and provide clear discharge instructions
• Recognize and initiate malignant hyperthermia protocol and isolation precautions when needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and rapid response
• Conduct patient education and follow-up phone calls to support post-discharge recovery

• Active RN license in Oregon or eligibility for licensure (pending license status noted in job posting)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Per job posting requirement)
• Experience or proficiency in PACU and pre-anesthesia care (Phase I and Phase II experience preferred)
• Epic charting experience required or strong ability to learn Epic quickly
• Certifications preferred: ACLS, BLS, PALS (as noted in job details)
• Comfort with floating between pre-op and PACU and working on-call rotations including weekends
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage varying patient acuity, and excellent communication skills

• Patient assessment across pre-op and post-anesthesia settings
• Medication reconciliation and pre-op medication administration
• Pain assessment and evidence-based pain management strategies
• Interpretation and communication of lab values
• Familiarity with isolation precautions and malignant hyperthermia protocol
• Pre-op assessments, obtaining operative/procedural consent, and discharge instruction delivery
• Experience in ambulatory/outpatient, Phase I PACU, Phase II recovery, and pre/post care
• Epic electronic medical record proficiency
