The Operating Room Nurse Director reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and plays a key role in supporting the overall vision for perioperative excellence. Several clinical leaders and charge personnel report up through the Operating Room Nurse Director, along with teams across the OR, PACU, and Short Stay areas. The Operating Room Nurse Director will also collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and quality partners to help maintain smooth operations and consistent patient outcomes.
The Operating Room Nurse Director oversees a perioperative service line that includes 8 operating rooms, 13 PACU bays, and a Short Stay department with 16 pre/post bays, 3 endoscopy rooms, and 3 pre‑op spaces. The surgical division averages around 600 patients each month and runs with a balanced, steady pace supported by talented surgeons, experienced techs, and attentive recovery nurses. The operating room team is known for its dependability, supportive culture, and pride in delivering safe surgical care.
The Operating Room Nurse Director carries responsibility for clinical oversight, ensuring competency development, performance improvement, and adherence to high‑quality care standards across all perioperative areas. The Operating Room Nurse Director also manages operational functions including budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and equipment planning while contributing to collaborative physician relations. The role demands strong judgment, effective crisis response, and a practical approach to organizational and process improvement.
