Position: Landscape Crew Technician / Laborer

Nelson Landscape, Inc. is looking for enthusiastic and energetic team members to help fulfill our vision of providing exceptional landscaping to our clients. We are looking for people who love to work outdoors, are team oriented, have a positive attitude, are willing to follow direction, have good communication skills, and are looking to have their dedication and hard work appreciated and well rewarded.

Compensation: $18.00+ based on experience/qualifications

Type: Seasonal - March/April to December/January weather permitting

  • Up to 14 Hours per day depending on season
  • Seasonal employment March/April to December/January weather permitting
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Work with others under the direction of your Supervisor to perform various landscape services
  • Assist with task such as, but not limited to, installation and planting of nursery stock and lawns, installation of various wall types, steps, patios, drainage systems, low voltage lighting systems, water features, and other landscape related products.
  • Haul and spread topsoil, stone, mulch, and other landscape materials
  • Operate manual and small power tools safely including rakes, shovels, saws, axes, and more
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds repetitively
  • Willingness to learn quickly and follow direction from your Supervisor
  • Be hard working and have a positive attitude for the entire work shift
Added Qualifications

We value employees that have additional experience, training, and certifications and reward accordingly. Additional qualifications are not necessary, and could include, but not limited to the following:

  • 2+ Years field experience
  • CDL driver’s license
  • Experience with equipment use
  • Basic knowledge of proper installation of landscape elements such as trees, shrubs, mulch, drain tile and more
  • Schooling or certificates in installation and/or horticulture
  • Operating skills of equipment such as skid steers
  • Starting wage based on experience/qualifications $18.00+ per hour
  • Time and a half after 8 hours and over 40 hours
  • Additional pay/benefits available after probation period such as raises, profit sharing, paid holidays, time off, and plant/material discounts
