Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Location:

Portland, OR | Salary: $97,300.00–$ (full‑time).

• Detect, deter, and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Identify and mitigate areas of high theft.
• Monitor large shrink areas and report incidents to the Asset Protection Manager.
• Provide credible court testimony as required.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Verify compliance with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives related to loss prevention.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime, and weekends on a regular basis.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (or equivalent experience).
• Retail security experience.
• Law enforcement experience.
• High school diploma or GED, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age (21 in Alaska).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
• Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• Model Customer‑first behavior by delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to maintain flexibility regarding shifts and overtime.
