Mechanic Apprentice
Under direct supervision, through on‑the‑job training, classroom instruction, and certifications, the apprentice provides maintenance and repair services for vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure safety and ongoing operation. Upon successful completion of the four‑year apprentice program, the apprentice is classified as a certified journeyman mechanic.

Essential Responsibilities- Actively participate in formal and on‑the‑job training sessions.
- Assist experienced mechanics with tasks such as repairing and maintaining trucks and machinery.
- Perform simple repairs and routine maintenance tasks under supervision (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
- Use, maintain, and organize tools and equipment properly.
- Assist in diagnosing problems with trucks and equipment under guidance, using diagnostic tools.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Complete the maximum four‑year apprentice training program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic interest in learning about mechanical tools, equipment, and systems.
- Willingness to learn how to troubleshoot and solve basic mechanical issues with guidance.
- Ability to follow simple instructions and work with basic tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on environment and eager to develop new skills.
- Knowledge of job‑site safety, potential hazards, and local regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment mechanical aptitude and math skills assessment.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a CDL (Class A or B) within six months of hire.
