Overview
To identify and assess players from key European markets for the purpose of delivering recruitment targets to the club’s Director of Scouting and Sporting Director.
Examples of work performed- Scouting and shortlisting suitable recruitment targets for the Colorado Rapids first team and second team.
- Maintaining positional shortlists in line with the club’s strategic goals, roster needs and budgets.
- Attending live fixtures to observe key recruitment targets.
- Watching video footage of matches from selected leagues.
- Filing comprehensive player reports using the club’s scouting platform.
- Adhering to the club’s positional profiles and report format.
- Working with the Director of Scouting and Director of Analytics to identify suitable player profiles through data and market intelligence.
- Communicating with agents and clubs to gather market intelligence to inform the scouting and player acquisition process.
- Assisting the department with comprehensive due diligence on players of interest.
- Working closely with the department’s Video Scouts to ensure thorough coverage and knowledge of all relevant leagues.
- Attending weekly department meetings (virtually).

Qualifications- Clear vision at 20”, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- 4+ years’ experience working full-time in a first-team scouting role
- Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Preferred
- Muti-lingual – ability to speak a second language in addition to English
- Certification or soccer licensure either as a coach or in talent identification
- US Soccer B license or equivalent
- Possess high level of current knowledge and experience working within European markets
- Possess a strong and established network of contacts at an elite level of soccer
- Demonstrate a track record of involvement in successful & impactful player recruitment decisions
- Ability to travel internationally when required
- Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently & in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments
- Ability to strategically execute on recruitment goals
- Ability to manage and delegate responsibility
- Base $70,000 per annum
