Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in payables and team leadership. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the AP team, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments across multiple business units.
Responsibilities- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, approvals, payment runs, and vendor management
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists to ensure high performance and accuracy
- Maintain and improve AP processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and timely payments
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and company approval workflows
- Partner with accounting, procurement, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline workflows
- Support month-end close by ensuring all payables are accurately recorded and reconciled
- Monitor aging reports and resolve outstanding payables or vendor issues
- Assist with audits by providing requested documentation and supporting schedules
- Help implement and optimize AP-related systems and automation tools
- Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong understanding of AP best practices, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems such as Intacct, Quick Books, or Service Titan is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments
- Experience in a multi-entity or service-based business environment is preferred
