Student - Assistant Childcare Teacher

Utah Valley University is seeking a student to assist The Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Wee Care Center as a teacher assistant!

• Create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can learn, explore and thrive.
• Become familiar with and help adhere to high standards of quality care in alignment with National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).
• Assist teachers with implementation of research-based curriculum and assessments.
• Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, coworkers, regulating authorities, University personnel, and community partners.
• Part time employees can work up to 28 hours per week.

• Must be a current UVU student
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• CPRand First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
• Food Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain
• Pass criminal background check through Utah Department of Health
• Able to work Monday thru Friday morning shift (6:30 am
  -1:00 pm) or afternoon shift (12:00 pm – 6:00 pm) with some flexibility in schedule times.

• Knowledge or training of developmentally appropriate practices for working with young children.
• Ability to engage children in leaning and play activities.
• Ability to supervise multiple children in demanding, fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain positive and professional demeanor
• Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions
• Reliable, punctual and committed to keeping assigned schedule
