The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Utah Valley University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure‑track) for our Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Master’s Program. We are a vibrant and growing 60‑credit program that leads to eligibility for counseling licensure through the State of Utah. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP‑accredited institution, with knowledge of CACREP accreditation requirements.
We seek a candidate who will also be able to teach at least two of the following courses: ACA Ethics, Multicultural Counseling, Group Counseling, Practicum, and Internship. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in pedagogy and instructional theories, with a strong ability to deliver instruction across multiple modalities, including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats. We value educators who are effective in the classroom, employ innovative instructional strategies, and enhance student engagement and learning.
The ideal candidate will be adept at teaching key skills essential to psychology and demonstrate respect in all interactions with students.
Additionally, candidates should have the ability to conduct research and disseminate it in presentations and publications. We especially value individuals who can mentor students and engage them in their work. We seek individuals who are not only willing to reflect on and refine their teaching practices based on feedback, training, or scholarship but also who actively collaborate and communicate respectfully with colleagues, students, and staff.

PhD or equivalent in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP‑accredited institution. The position is located in Utah and requires candidates to establish residency in Utah upon hire. We seek colleagues with a history of demonstrating respect for students and colleagues both inside and outside the classroom.

The program serves approximately 80 full‑time students from diverse backgrounds in a 2.5‑year degree program.
Faculty in the Psychology and Counseling Department foster a collaborative environment focused on mentoring students in scholarly activities. This position includes teaching (80%), research (10%), and service (10%) responsibilities. UVU is a rapidly growing regional university of more than 40,000 students and is located in Orem, Utah—about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Graduation from a CACREP‑accredited institution or equivalent with a terminal, earned degree in Counselor Education and Supervision.
