Summary of Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned Health Sciences courses in accordance with departmental curriculum, learning outcomes, and university standards.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging, student‑centered instruction that integrates practical skills, industry knowledge, and ethical principles to foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
  • Support and mentor students to promote academic success, professional development, and career readiness in the fields of healthcare and health education.
  • Assess student learning through appropriate evaluation methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative learning environment that reflects the values of the Department of Health Sciences.
  • Stay current with developments in healthcare and health education to ensure course content remains relevant and aligned with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to support program goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Health Education, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution;
    OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field with significant, relevant professional experience in healthcare or health education (when permitted by accrediting standards).
  • Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise in one or more health sciences disciplines appropriate to the assigned courses.
  • Relevant professional experience in healthcare, public health, health education, or a related field.
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage diverse student populations in a higher education setting.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex health‑related concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, academic integrity, and student success.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge
  • Knowledge of health sciences principles, practices, and trends relevant to healthcare and health education.
  • Knowledge of instructional methods, adult learning theory, and student‑centered teaching practices.
  • Knowledge of ethical standards and professional expectations within the healthcare and health education fields.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies in higher education.
